A certified teacher, Susan has worked as an environmental educator, running her own outdoor education program and inspiring young people about biodiversity. Motivated to save the last of our old growth ecosystems, she spent many years doing forest watch with the Central Oregon Forest Issues Committee and the Eastside Protection Project. While living in California, Susan was the Volunteer Coordinator for Audubon Canyon  for the Point Reyes National Seashore Association. For the past few years she has been involved with advocating for wolves and their ESA protections. In 2020, Susan co-created the Sisters based Wolf Welcome Committee.
