Renowned biologist Dr. Douglas Smith, formerly the senior wildlife biologist of Yellowstone National Park, will share his experiences as the project leader reintroducing wolves into Yellowstone. This event is part of the Museum’s exploration of the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act.
In May, a public conference was held in Camp Sherman on re-wilding and conservation initiatives across the State of Oregon. The Conference was held to discuss forest and desert ecosystems, native fish, and carnivores.
TheWolf Welcome Committee, Western Watersheds Project, and Lake Creek Lodge co-sponsored this Conference.
The mission of Western Watersheds Project is to protect and restore western watersheds and wildlife through education, public policy initiatives, and legal advocacy. They have created YouTube videos of the Re-Wilding Conference that can be found HERE.
